Nila joined ESI in 2010 as a production associate. With a strong background in engineering, she quickly adapted to her new role, learning and mastering new skills along the way. Over the years, her natural leadership abilities shone through, and she transitioned into a Team Lead position, where she now plays a crucial role in driving the final stages of our assembly process.

Nila’s leadership style is rooted in a genuine desire to support her team. She fosters a culture of growth and collaboration, always ready to lend a hand or teach someone something new. Today, Nila’s passion for learning, curiosity, and leadership continue to inspire both her team and the wider ESI community.

Doug joined ESI in 1987 as part of a group of vocational-technical students working night shifts. Doug moved from production associate to technician, team leader, and finally to test engineer-technician. Doug tackles technical challenges on the manufacturing floor and builds many of the test systems used in production. “I enjoy the designing aspect,” he shares. “I float all over,” he says “I wouldn’t be good at sitting in one spot—I like to be busy!”

Beyond his technical skills, Doug trained as a first responder and played a crucial role in saving the life of a fellow employee during a heart attack, earning a Citizen Hero award from the Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue Department. “He made it,” Doug says with obvious satisfaction, proud of the impact he had.

Rosalyn has been a dedicated production associate at ESI since 1991. Over her remarkable career, Rosalyn has witnessed significant advancements in circuit board assemblies, from FM to VHF and analog to logic boards. Rosalyn came to ESI after working at a small electronic company, where she honed her soldering skills, prepping thousands of mini-microchips under a microscope.

Today, she operates select solder machines and enjoys the variety of tasks that come with her role. “I love everything here. I like the work and I like the people.” she shares.

Meet Etsegenet, who has been with our company since 2008. Right out of college, she was eager to start her career and found a home here in our production team. Her journey began on the night shift in the SMT final area. As she gained experience, she transitioned to the day shift in our SMT area, and in 2017, she took on a new role in our Quality department.

Since then, Etsegenet has been a vital part of our Quality team. She finds joy in her work by playing a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across the production floor. Her day is filled with inspecting products, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting our associates at every step. Her role allows her to interact with employees from all areas of the floor, where she enjoys building relationships and fostering a collaborative environment.

Starting as a production associate, Tony quickly moved up to production technician and ultimately an associate test engineer. “I like to tinker and I’ve always been into electronics,” he explains. Tony helps develop and maintain testing systems that evaluate the printed circuit boards produced at ESI. Today, Tony thrives in a position that allows him to combine his technical skills with strong customer relationships, ensuring that test systems run smoothly and analyzing test data. “One of my favorite things is building the tester—the tinkering part,” he notes. “The work is fun, and I like the people,” he concludes.
